Rebecca Ungerman's mission is to share the songs and stories of the grand body of work that is the Great American Songbook with as many humans as possible in her lifetime. Through the years, Rebecca has been a singer, composer, actor, playwright, director, producer and Foley artist. She has opened for Little Richard at the historic Cain’s Ballroom in her home town of Tulsa, Oklahoma and she has opened her first musical, ‘The Unwitting Wife,’ at the Tiberias International Theatre Festival in Israel. Thousands of her fans have voted her their favorite vocalist and stage performer, and she has helped to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for worthy causes ranging from AIDS to Zoos. Rebecca excels at opening up exciting, innovative performance opportunities to underserved artists and audiences.
Ungerman’s calling is to open up both sides of the stage, creating informative, entertaining shows featuring a myriad of talented artists and taking these shows to the world.
Artist’s Statement – I am an ambassador of the Great American Songbook. It is a calling, to share the abundant stories of music which create a sonic tapestry, depicting the true story of our country. With my song and my pen, I add my voice to the story. I open stages to fellow artists, so that they may add their voices to the story. It is an honor to share this music and the tales of the great Americans who created it for the world. It is a happy calling to produce my own theatricals, filled with laughter, a tear or two and all sorts of joyful noises.
